Georgia Gilmore (born February 5th, 1920) grew up on a farm in Montgomery with seven siblings, and later grew up to raise six children of her own in addition to being very involved with her community. She’s best known for playing a key role in fundraising during the Montgomery Bus Boycotts of the 50s, and did so by organizing with other Black women to cook meals and sell baked goods.
