Cornell Future Food Summit
The students over at Cornell University organized a Future Food Summit for their peers to generate ideas around making the food system at their school more cooperative, equitable, and inclusive of BIPOC stories. They invited Deep Routes Lead Collaborator Maya to come share about culinary education origins and how that relates to the importance of Black and brown foodways being centered in food education narratives.
Shout out to student organizers Clara & Dylan for bringing the event together and creating such a welcoming environment, as well as Dallas (ey/em/eir/she/her, from CoFED and Harriet Tubman Freedom Farm) for inviting Deep Routes to co-facilitate and dropping so much wisdom throughout the entire process!
